In Ephesians 4:1 Paul says “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called…” In other words, he’s pleading with believers to act like believers, and to behave in a manner that brings glory and honor to Jesus Christ, the one who made our “calling”, or our salvation possible. He’s also urging his readers to walk in Christian unity, one with another. He states in verse 4 that “there is one body and one Spirit.”  If you are saved, you are a part of the one body, and all believers share the same Spirit…the Holy Spirit of God, who is the Spirit of unity and peace.

The local church is called to be a place of healing, where anyone can come to be refreshed, renewed, and most importantly loved. But healing for others will only happen when the members of a local body of believers truly love each other! If we are members of one body and share the same Spirit, the question then becomes: “why can’t we all just get along?”
